Product Update Recap: New Features and Improvements

This summer brought some exciting new updates to make CattleMax even more useful for your day-to-day operations. These improvements are based on feedback from the community, with a focus on making the software even more useful for everyone. Below, you’ll find a recap of the latest features and how they can help simplify your cattle management.

Pasture Management Updates

CattleMax has added six new updates and features to the Pastures record field!

Keeping up with Pastures in CattleMax can come in handy during hay season, when assigning tasks, or even during everyday activities on your ranch. This powerful tool allows you to store valuable and pertinent pasture information on the same platform as the rest of your ranch records. Add forage type to your pastures.

Advanced Equipment Tracking & Categorization

Keeping your farm equipment information in CattleMax allows you to see active and inactive equipment, record models, serial numbers, part numbers, maintenance history, record notes, and create tasks for future maintenance. You can also now track the location of your equipment and the categories they fall into.

Breed Interface Updates for Aberdeen, Beefmaster & Gelbvieh

As a CattleMax registered plan customer and member of your breed association, you can save time and effort using the Breed Interfaces feature.

Maintain production records, generate reports for management decisions and print pedigree ads for buyers. By integrating with breed associations, CattleMax enables you to use a cattle record management solution while benefiting from the association with cattle registrations, downloading EPDs, submitting and receiving data electronically and more.

Other Software Updates & Enhancements

Verified Programs Feed List: Ranchers now can keep track of all feeds fed on your ranch. This can be very handy when working with PVP (Process Verified Programs) or keeping track of what feed you have fed. The Restricted portion will be important if you sell calves with a PVP program, and they may contain animal byproducts, antibiotics, or restricted or prohibited ingredients. You can also add a photo of the feed tag and feed letter (required for PVP programs).

Group Update: Group Update enables you to update records for multiple animals at one time. Additional information can now be updated for multiple animals, including:

  • Castrate multiple bull calves to create steer calves using the Record Calfhood Procedures.
  • Add a breeder for multiple animals.
  • Bulk fill in the sire using the “Update DNA Parentage.”

Share Your Sales Tickets: After you have created a sales ticket for animals that you have sold, you can now share that sales ticket with the buyer if they also use CattleMax.

Inventory Time Machine: With only the entry of a date, you can produce an active animal inventory report for that specific date in the past, including animal age on that specific date. You can now show Electronic ID numbers in your report.

Account Roles: Updates to the role-based permissions enable you to better delegate access.

We hope you find these new updates helpful. As always, we welcome feedback and suggestions.
