Pasture Management Updates

Pasture intro picKeeping up with Pastures in CattleMax can come in handy during hay season, when assigning tasks, or even during everyday activities on your ranch. This powerful tool allows you to store valuable and pertinent pasture information on the same platform as the rest of your ranch records.

CattleMax has added six new updates and features to the Pastures record field! Below is a list of those updates and features.

1. Add a Category to your pastures. For instance: hay, pasture, crop etc. 

2. Add forage type to your pastures. For instance: fescue, wheat, rye, etc

3. Add Leased or Owned to your pastures.

4. Under the Hay Production Tab in your Pastures, you can now add TDN (Total Digestible Nutrients)

5. The total animal count has been added to the pasture count on the main pastures page. This will help you see how many total animals are in all of your active pastures with a quick look.

6. You can now sort your Smart Groups by Premises ID.


A Premises ID is a unique code that is permanently assigned to a single physical location. PIN registration is administered by each state. It allows animal health officials to quickly and precisely identify where animals are located in the event of an animal health or food safety emergency.
